2. How We Use Data

The information collected is used only to provide the functions of the app, including:

  • Saving and displaying academic records and study planning data.
  • Generating quizzes, feedback, and study support content.
  • Supporting AI chat and AI explanation features through the Gemini API.
  • Improving user experience inside the app.

3. AI Services and Third-Party Processing

SmartStudyAI uses the Gemini API for live AI-related features. When these features are used, user prompts, selected text, and uploaded content may be sent to Google for processing in order to generate AI responses.

SmartStudyAI does not train a custom AI model. It uses an external AI API to generate quiz, schedule, and companion responses.

Users should avoid uploading highly sensitive personal information through AI features unless necessary for academic use.

4. Local Storage

Most user-generated data, such as scores, schedules, settings, saved subjects, quiz history, and chat history, is stored locally on the device using the app’s local storage system.

  • Data remains on the device unless the user deletes it or clears the app data.
  • Uninstalling the app may remove locally stored app data from the device.

5. Data Sharing

SmartStudyAI does not sell user data. User content is only shared with third-party services when required to provide app functions, such as sending prompts or uploaded content to the Gemini API for AI-generated responses.

We aim to protect user information through reasonable technical measures within the limits of a student project application. However, no digital system can guarantee absolute security.

7. Children’s Privacy

SmartStudyAI is designed for students and general academic use. It is not intentionally designed to collect personal information from children under the age required by local law without appropriate supervision.
